The general elections to the Indian Parliament is the biggest democratic exercise in the world, with an electorate of  about 968.8 million in 2024. The polling is in seven phases, between April 19 and June 1, 2024. The votes will be counted on June 4 and most of the results are also expected the same day.  Here are some background information.
