Son of N. Krishna Pillai and Maheswari Amma; born at Navaikulam in
Thiruvananthapuram District on 25th May 1960; B.Sc., LLB., Advocate, Social and Political worker.
College Education at Fatima Matha National College. Kollam; Passed LLB. with First Rank in 1985. Was Member. Navaikulam Grama Panchayat (1987-95).
Thiruvananthapuram District Council (1991-93), Thiruvananthapuram District Panchayat (1995-97). Elected to Lok Sabha in 1996 and 1998 from Kollam Parliament Constituency. Was a Member of Rajya Sabha from 2000 to 2006.
Elected to Assembly in 2006 and became Minister for Water Resources.
