Kerala Budget Highlights
  • Overall deficit: Rs. 2041.22 crore
  • Tax on automated robot car parking system reduced from 14.5 per cent to 5 per cent
  • Free rations to those living below the poverty line
  • Rs 150 crore for providing two LED bulbs in every house in the State; Solar park in Kasaragod.
  • Plastic goods to attract more tax
  • Commercial Tax Department to be reconstituted.
  • VAT reimbursement for cooperative societies; Formula developed for removing pesticides from vegetables exempted from tax.

  • Thiruvanathapuram Medical College to be developed as Centre of Excellence.
  • Pariayaram Medical College to be taken over by the Government; Kerala Emergency Medical Service to be extended to all districts.
  • Ernakulam Maharaja's College to be converted into Digital College
  • Interest concession to ITI, polytechnic students on educational loans. Rs. 200 crore earmarked for help with loans.
  • 100 schools to be developed to international standards.
  • Feasibility study for highspeed corridor to be completed this year
  • Re. 1 per tonne subsidy to promote inland navigation
  • Feasibility study for elevated expressway
  • Underpass at Pattom and Peroorkada in Trivandrum
  • PPP model for development of industrial parks- Rs. 2 crore
  • Power subsidy to be extended to cash crops including cardamon

  • Rs. 100 cr for new dam at Mullaperiyar
